From a number not in my contact list - could be an area code spoofer trying to get a reaction. Most phishing text spammers will conclude with Reply STOP to opt out, but it's a ploy to see if you're there for many future scamming attempts, which is guaranteed to follow (They'll sell your number on the dark internet too) This spammer tried another ruse, by texting one word: "Hey!" I didn't respond. After one more attempt a few minutes later, I didn't respond. Never???????? respond with Who is this?!! This trick happened before I quit social media: That scammer text Hello(my name! ) when I responded Who is this? and received a familiar name accompanied with a picture of the sexy model Combat Barbie I held the text conversation long enough to send a link back to the real model. It's fun to bust a scammer before you block them. Never respond, period
